A shelf at The Greenhouse, and one very stubborn idea.
Maya started out braiding neighbours' hair on a Saturday stool in Kilimani. When she took a single rented shelf at The Greenhouse on Ngong Road, she brought one rule with her: no style is worth a damaged edge.
That rule turned into a salon. Today the team — led by Rashid, whose silk presses have their own small following — handles boho braids, protective installs, natural hair coaching and a nail bar that runs on clean prep and honest timing.
We keep the room bright, the kettle on, and the appointment book realistic. If a service will take five hours, we tell you five hours. If a style will stress your scalp, we'll suggest a better one.
